Historia de Falcon

Falcon International School (FIS) is an educational institution which opened its doors to offer an excellent alternative for parents who wish to educate their children in Garabito County, who offers grades from early childhood through twelfth grade.

FIS strives to become the best educational school in a multi-cultured society in the Central Pacific Area in a very near future. It was founded in 2004 as a nonsectarian, school. FIS is accredited by the Costa Rican Ministry of Education. It will be one of the Schools at the Pacific Coast that offers both a US High School Diploma and the Costa Rican Baccalaureate.

The school is located at Herradura Beach, Jaco de Puntarenas, diagonal to the principal entrance of Los Sueños Resort & Marina. This custom built educational facility consisting of specially designed pre school class rooms, primary and middle school classes is well complemented by a modern information technology lab and multimedia center. All class rooms are air conditioned and provides natural light to allow for an optimal educational experience for the students. The recreational grounds are well maintained and include a small soccer field, volley ball court, basketball court and an activity center for the younger students.

BILLING AND PAYMENT POLICIES - 2009-2010

Registration Fee: First entrance families pay a one-time registration fee of $1,000.00 upon initial admission to Falcon International School. This is a non-refundable fee.

Matriculation Fee: The matriculation fee is paid in full for all students prior to the start of each school year. The fee is due May 30th of each year for returning students; and, for new students, it should be paid at the time of enrollment with the above registration fee. This is a non-refundable fee.

Tuition: Tuition is paid monthly prior to the fifth of every month August through June (eleven payments). There is a 10% discount offered for annual payment. Those students in the second semester will receive a 5% discount for payment of the entire semester.

Billing and Payment: School fees are quoted in US dollars. The school business office will only accept checks. Payment in cash (or by check) can be made by depositing the amount due for the benefit of Ventana Al Futuro JML SA in any branch of Banco Nacional de Costa Rica in account # 100-02-131-600300-0 or Banco Interfin account # 3136092-01

Note: Payment made by deposit in any of the above banks must be identified with the student's name, with a copy sent (by hand or fax 2637-7471) to the school business office.

Surcharges: A surcharge of 10% per month is levied against monthly payments or other payments made after the due date A charge of $45.00 is due to the school for each check rejected by the bank.

School Supplies: Consumable workbooks, on-loan classroom textbooks, and some school supplies are included in school fees. Parents will receive a list of items required to be purchased upon registration.

Additional Fees: Students are required to purchase the official P.E. and Falcon International school uniform. Additional charges may be levied for consumable materials in courses like art and for personal reference texts when required by the school. Students must pay for the cost of special examinations required by Falcon International, such as International accreditation tests.

Optional Payment Plan: An optional payment plan is available at an additional cost of 10% over the stated yearly tuition. Contact the Business Office for further information.
